Watch out for this new up-and-coming shaper. He entered the industry just 2 years ago and he’s already shaping professional quality boards.
A little about his past –
Brandon became influenced while on a surf trip with his family by all the different boards he came across in the many surf shops. Because he couldn’t afford a large quiver of his own, Brandon went a different route and decided to start shaping his own boards. He began by studying shaping videos and observing his mentor, local San Pedro shaper and ex-WCT surfer, James “Onion” See. Brandon would hang around Onion’s shop watching him shape and glass. He helped Brandon progress as a shaper and glasser and also taught him the right way to make it in the surfboard industry.
Brandon turned his parents’ garage into a legitimate shaping bay and started making boards right away for family and friends. He made every mistake in the industry, just as every new shaper does, but learning from them and progressing. For a while he’d have his boards glassed in Westminster at Aloha Glassing, then started doing his own glassing not long after. It was a huge task, but with each board they came out better than the last.
Brandon does every step of the creation process in-house. He does all his own shaping, tinting, coloring, designing, and glassing, making his turn-around time very quick.

He gave me an awesome deal, did some really cool design work on it and actually shaped it to fit my style of surfing better than I could have imagined! You know how every now and then you come across a board that’s better than anything else you’ve ridden? The Rocket-Fish Brandon shaped for me is that board!”
